Emergence is a band based in South India, with members hailing from around the world. Their music represents a true melting of cultures, backgrounds and musical expressions. Multi-layered harmonic textures of guitar and poetical lyricism played by Krishna blend with the sublime melodies of the Carnatic idiom, played on the violin and sung in Tamil by Karthick Srinivasan. This, backed by the expressive grooves of Boston drummer Lowell Harrison, and the exquisite bass playing of the renowned Mishko M’Ba, is the unique fusion of Emergence. Featuring Matt Littlewood, a highly acclaimed jazz saxophonist on the Indian music scene.

Krishna, lead singer and guitarist of Emergence, hails from the UK and has been living in South India for the last fifteen years. His highly harmonic style is inspired by jazz, funk, Dylan, and classical Hindustani themes.

Karthick Srinivasan is a reputed Carnatic violinist and vocalist from Madras, South India. He infuses the music with intricate melodies on violin as well as singing in his native Tamil.

Mishko M'Ba is among the cream of France's bass players, having worked with with such top musicians as Ray Charles, Barbara Hendrix and Didier Lockwood. Mishko is an active musician on the Indian circuit.

Lowell Harrison, a funk and jazz drummer from Boston, USA, has performed extensively through the US from Florida to Alaska. He draws inspiration equally from funk percussion and Carnatic tallams.


Navin, a renowned flautist, was born in Chennai showed indications of prodigiuous abilities from his childhood. He started his musical training under Mrs.N.Kesi at an early age of four. He continued his further training from Mr. K.V.Ramanujam and Prof.T.V.Gopalakrishnan. When he was five years old he could both read and play music. He had prococious skills as a flute player.

Navin, an influential composer quickly gainied a reputation as a virtuoso flautist. Navin 's Patrons loved his music.

He has performed in the LIVE programme of Doordarshan's Silver Jublilee Celebrations with legends like Kadri Gopalnath, Saxaphone exponent, & Prof.T.Vgopalakrishnan.

He has played fusion programmes and has given many albums with the world famous Gatam Player & Grammy awardee Mr.Vikku Vinayakram which has received wide appreciation.

He has also played with the well known veena artist Mr.Rajesh Vaidya in the making of albums and live fusion programmes.

He was part of the week long workshop called "UNITY IN DIVERSITY" conducted by the CENTRE FOR CULTURAL RESOURCES AND TRAINING, NEW DELHI for promotion of cultures and traditions of various states of the nation.

He has been playing for the international music group called "EARTH SYNC" and has given performances in the country. The same group is performing at PERTH, Australia under the auspices of "LAYA PROJECT LIVE" during the Perth Internation Festival 2009 which takes place from Feb 13th to Mar 8th 2009.

He has participated in the recording of Films by famous music directors in Tamil, Teleugu,Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi numbering over 150 by traveliling the length and breath of the country.

His latest participation in the A.R.Rehman's SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE has won the GOLDEN GLOBE and two Oscars, which is the first by an Indian

He has attracted musicians from all over the world by his playing in Hindustani, Classical or western or in any genre. Due to this ability he has played with international musicians. His participation in Holywood , Bollywood and Kolywood is well known. He has won accolades from the print and visual media.
